To keep IndieWait high-quality, we have a specific standard for what belongs here.
The key requirement: There must be a waiting period before your product becomes available. If it's already live and accessible to everyone, without a waiting period, it's not a waitlist.
What is a Waitlist?
A waitlist is a list of people who have asked for something that is not immediately available but will be in the future.
Only submit projects which have a genuine waiting period before access to alpha, beta, or public launch. This means your project is not ready yet, and you gather interested users in a waitlist to notify them when it is.
If your project is already launched, already in alpha or, or simply a newsletter sign-up, it doesn't qualify as a waitlist on IndieWait.
Except in rare cases where a waitlist is for a feature within a launched product.
What Types of Products Can Have Waitlists?
What products or services typically have waitlists? Here are some common examples:
✓ SaaS Products and online tools
Web applications, software platforms, tools launching soon
✓ Mobile & Desktop Apps
iOS, Android, or desktop applications in development
✓ Digital Products
Courses, ebooks, templates, design resources coming soon
✓ Physical Products
Hardware, gadgets, or tangible goods pre-launch
✓ Newsletters & Content
Only if there's exclusive early access or limited spots
✓ Communities & Memberships
Private communities, cohorts, or membership programs
Remember: The common thread is time. Your users are waiting for something that isn't available yet.
